TSHR Full-Length Membrane Proteins, Nanodiscs, Antibodies and Stable Cell Lines

The thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR), or thyrotropin receptor, is a glycoprotein-hormone receptor with a large extracellular leucine-rich-repeat domain connected to a seven-transmembrane GPCR core. Binding of thyroid-stimulating hormone primarily activates Gs-cAMP/PKA signaling to control thyroid-hormone synthesis, secretion, growth, and differentiation, although TSHR can also engage additional G proteins and β-arrestin pathways. TSHR is also a major autoantigen in autoimmune thyroid disease. Functionally distinct antibodies may stimulate, block, or bind the receptor without strongly altering signaling, making epitope location and native receptor conformation particularly important during antibody characterization.
