| Background | The IL2RB and IL2RG heterodimer is composed of interleukin-2 receptor subunit beta (IL2RB/CD122) and the common gamma-chain receptor subunit (IL2RG/CD132). Together, these subunits form the intermediate-affinity interleukin-2 receptor and constitute the signaling components of the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex when associated with IL2RA/CD25. IL2RB and IL2RG are also essential components of the interleukin-15 receptor complex. Upon ligand-induced receptor assembly, IL2RB and IL2RG activate JAK1 and JAK3, leading to downstream signaling through the STAT5, PI3K–AKT, and MAPK pathways. These signaling pathways regulate the proliferation, survival, differentiation, and effector functions of T cells, natural killer cells, and other immune cells. Dysregulation of IL-2 and IL-15 receptor signaling is associated with autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency, inflammation, and cancer. Recombinant IL2RB and IL2RG heterodimer protein is suitable for cytokine–receptor interaction studies, binding and functional assays, antibody screening, drug discovery, and the development of IL-2- or IL-15-based therapeutics. |
