Molecular Weight	The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 43.4 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of MFAP5-hFc is approximately 35-55 kDa due to glycosylation.
Purity	The purity of the protein is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.

Background	This gene encodes a 25-kD microfibril-associated glycoprotein which is a component of microfibrils of the extracellular matrix. The encoded protein promotes attachment of cells to microfibrils via alpha-V-beta-3 integrin. Deficiency of this gene in mice results in neutropenia.
