PSMA/FOLH1 Recombinant Proteins, Antibodies and Stable Cell Lines

Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), encoded by FOLH1 and also known as glutamate carboxypeptidase II, is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with a large extracellular catalytic domain. PSMA has glutamate carboxypeptidase and folate hydrolase activities and is expressed at relatively low levels in selected normal tissues, while cell-surface expression can be strongly elevated in prostate cancer. PSMA can also be detected in the neovasculature of several other solid tumors. Its large accessible extracellular domain, high target density in relevant tumors, and receptor internalization properties have made PSMA important for antibody research, targeted delivery, molecular imaging, and radioligand approaches.
