STEAP1 recombinant proteins and antibodies

Six-transmembrane prostate epithelial antigen 1 (STEAP1), also known as PRSS2 or STEA1, belongs to the six-transmembrane prostate epithelial antigen (STEAP) family, which also includes members STEAP1B, STEAP2, STEAP3, and STEAP4. Among them, STEAP1B is a truncated homolog of STEAP1 and a four-transmembrane protein. STEAP1-4 are metalloproteases that play an important role in iron and copper homeostasis. Compared with normal prostate tissue, STEAP1 is overexpressed in malignant prostate tissue. Current research on STEAP1 is mainly focused on prostate cancer. STEAP1 overexpression promotes prostate tumor growth, while STEAP1 knockdown inhibits prostate tumor growth. In addition to prostate cancer, upregulated STEAP1 expression has also been observed in other tumor tissues, including renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer, Ewing’s sarcoma, breast cancer, colorectal cancer (CRC), gastric cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung cancer. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently 4 STEAP1 drugs in the clinical stage, involving a variety of therapies such as antibodies, CAR-T and ADC, and the highest clinical research progress is clinical phase II.
