TLR5 recombinant proteins and antibodies

Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) is a pattern recognition receptor located on the cell surface and in the endoplasmic reticulum, belonging to the Toll-like receptor family. It primarily recognizes bacterial flagellin, triggering immune responses. Activation of TLR5 induces the release of inflammatory factors through the NF-κB pathway, enhancing innate immunity and promoting the activation of adaptive immune responses. TLR5 plays a critical role in antibacterial immunity and is highly expressed in immune-related tissues such as the gut, lungs, and urinary tract. As a result, TLR5 is considered a potential target for immunotherapy.

Currently, research on TLR5 is rapidly advancing, with many drugs and therapies under investigation that focus on its immune-modulating functions. For example, TLR5 agonists are being explored to enhance immune responses, particularly in cancer immunotherapy. By stimulating TLR5, the immune system is activated, leading T cells and natural killer (NK) cells to recognize and attack tumor cells. Additionally, TLR5 has shown promise in vaccine development for infectious diseases, especially in combating bacterial infections. Leading biopharmaceutical companies are currently developing TLR5-targeted drugs. Companies such as Apexigen have developed TLR5 agonists that are undergoing clinical trials to evaluate their effectiveness in cancer treatment. Meanwhile, other companies are exploring drugs that modulate the immune system via TLR5, as adjunct therapies for cancer, infectious diseases, and more. Activation of TLR5 holds the potential to provide new immunotherapeutic options, particularly in the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases.

To assist in the development of TLR5-targeted drugs, DIMA BIOTECH can now provide full-length TLR5 recombinant membrane protein developed by its nanodisc membrane protein platform. TLR5 nanodisc is an optimal solution for screening small molecules targeting TLR5 with its natural structure. Furthermore, DIMA BIOTECH has also prepared a TLR5 single B cell seed library, from which lead antibody molecules can be obtained in as fast as 28 days.
