The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 98.6 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of SEZ6-His is approximately 130-250 kDa due to glycosylation.
The purity of the protein is greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.

The protein encoded by this gene is thought to contain five cysteine-rich motifs that are similar to sushi domains, as well as two domains similar to the amino terminal half of the CUB (for complement C1r/C1s, Uegf, Bmp1) domain.
