BTLA/CD272 Recombinant Proteins, Antibodies and Stable Cell Lines

B and T Lymphocyte Attenuator (BTLA), also known as CD272, is an inhibitory immune receptor of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on T cells, B cells, and multiple other immune-cell populations. Unlike PD-1 and CTLA-4, BTLA interacts primarily with HVEM, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, forming a distinctive bidirectional immune-regulatory network. The cytoplasmic region of BTLA contains inhibitory motifs including ITIM and ITSM sequences. Upon engagement, these motifs recruit phosphatases such as SHP-1 and SHP-2 and suppress signaling downstream of T-cell and B-cell receptors. The BTLA-HVEM pathway therefore contributes to immune homeostasis, control of excessive inflammation, and regulation of lymphocyte activation. Its role in immune dysfunction within tumors and chronic immune stimulation has also generated interest in BTLA as a target for immune-checkpoint antibodies, multispecific molecules, and autoimmune or inflammatory disease research.
