GPR84 Recombinant Protein and Flow Cyt Antibody
G protein-coupled receptor 84 (GPR84), widely recognized as a medium-chain fatty acid receptor, belongs to the Class A rhodopsin-like GPCR family and contains a canonical seven-transmembrane architecture. GPR84 is mainly expressed in neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages, and is also detected in adipose tissue, lung tissue, and microglia in the central nervous system. Functionally, it is involved in immune-cell chemotaxis, pro-inflammatory cytokine release, ROS production, and macrophage phagocytosis, making it an important receptor at the intersection of metabolism and immunity.
From a therapeutic perspective, GPR84 has developed into a meaningful but still evolving pipeline. Currently, there are approximately 30 GPR84-targeted candidates worldwide, including about 4 in clinical development, 10 in preclinical development, and 10 in discovery-stage programs. Most programs are still centered on small-molecule modulators, especially in inflammatory and fibrotic disease settings. The major disease areas currently associated with GPR84 include inflammatory diseases, fibrotic and metabolic disorders, neuroinflammatory conditions, and tumor immunity. For more detailed progress, you can view the blog entitled “GPR84: A Key Medium-Chain Fatty Acid Receptor Linking Metabolism and Immunity.”
As a typical multi-pass GPCR, GPR84 is highly dependent on membrane context and native conformation, which makes it difficult to study using soluble fragments or crude membrane preparations alone. To address these challenges, DIMA BIOTECH currently provides Human GPR84 Protein, hFc Tag and two full-length GPR84 membrane proteins in synthetic nanodiscs. The ECD protein is better suited as a soluble antigen for immunogen preparation, ELISA coating, preliminary binding validation, and early antibody screening, while the full-length nanodisc proteins are more suitable for applications that require native-like conformation and membrane support, including ligand screening, mechanistic studies, binding assays, SPR, structural research, and more advanced GPR84-targeted drug discovery workflows. Additonally, DIMA BIOTECH is also advancing GPR84 flow cytometry antibody screening through its proprietary single B cell antibody discovery platform, with selected candidates currently under internal screening and evaluation.
