CD73/NT5E Recombinant Proteins, Antibodies and Stable Cell Lines

CD73, also known as ecto-5′-nucleotidase or 5′-nucleotidase (5′-NT), encoded by NT5E, is a GPI-anchored ecto-5′-nucleotidase that converts extracellular AMP into adenosine. Within tumors, however, conversion of extracellular nucleotides into adenosine can suppress T-cell and NK-cell function and alter myeloid-cell activity through adenosine receptors, creating an immunosuppressive microenvironment. CD73 is therefore increasingly viewed as an immune-metabolic checkpoint as well as a metabolic enzyme. Antibody programs may focus on enzymatic inhibition, receptor internalization, cell-surface binding, or combinations with other immune-checkpoint strategies.
