GDF15 recombinant proteins and antibodies

Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), also known as MIC-1 (macrophage inhibitory cytokine 1), PTGF-B (placental transforming growth factor-β), PDF (prostate-derived factor), and NAG-1 (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory activating gene-1), is a multifunctional cytokine that belongs to the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily. GDF15 is found in a variety of cells, including those in the cardiovascular system, immune system, and kidney. Under physiological conditions, the placenta is the only tissue that expresses high levels of this protein, with levels peaking in late pregnancy. Expression of this stress-responsive cytokine is increased in many pathological conditions, such as injury, ischemia, and other forms of oxidative and/or metabolic stress, which has sparked interest in its potential utility as a biomarker for human diseases (cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and renal injury). According to statistics, there are currently a variety of drugs targeting GDF-15, some of which have stopped development due to challenges or suspension. Among other candidate drugs, many are still in the early stages of development, including preclinical and clinical trial stages. Specifically, some drugs have entered Phase 1 and Phase 2 of clinical trials. These drugs cover a variety of types, including monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, and small molecule drugs. Among these clinical drugs, obesity has the most indications.

To assist in the development of GDF15 targeted therapies, DIMA BIOTECH can now provide a full range of products and services for GDF15 targets. Products include active proteins, reference antibodies, and flow-cytometry-verified monoclonal antibodies; services include customized services for antibodies against multiple genus proteins, antibody humanization, and affinity maturation services. In addition, to accelerate the development of GDF15 biotherapy, DIMA BIOTECH has also prepared a GDF15 target single B cell seed library, from which lead antibody molecules can be obtained in as fast as 28 days; at the same time, we have currently screened out multiple GDF15 lead molecules, and customers can get the molecules for functional evaluation and verification the next day.
