M-CSF/CSF1 Recombinant Proteins and Neutralizing Antibody Tools

Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (M-CSF), encoded by CSF1 and also known as CSF-1, belongs to the colony-stimulating factor family. Related hematopoietic cytokines include GM-CSF/CSF2 and G-CSF/CSF3, which regulate distinct myeloid-lineage populations. M-CSF binds CSF1R/CD115 and induces receptor dimerization and phosphorylation, activating PI3K/AKT, MAPK, and related pathways that promote monocyte and macrophage differentiation, proliferation, and survival. IL-34 is an additional ligand for CSF1R and has partially overlapping but distinct tissue distribution and biology. The CSF1-CSF1R axis is essential for tissue macrophage homeostasis, bone biology, inflammation, and repair. Within tumors, M-CSF signaling can promote recruitment and maintenance of tumor-associated macrophages and contribute to an immunosuppressive microenvironment.
