SLC7A11/xCT Recombinant Protein and Flow Cyt Antibody

Solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) is widely known as xCT, the cystine/glutamate transporter. As the light-chain component of System Xc(-), it mediates cystine uptake in exchange for glutamate, thereby supporting glutathione synthesis, redox homeostasis, and resistance to ferroptosis. Because SLC7A11 is a 12-pass transmembrane transporter with strong dependence on membrane context and native conformation, it remains a challenging target for structural studies, functional characterization, and antibody discovery.

From a therapeutic perspective, SLC7A11 is still an early but highly watched translational target in ferroptosis and cancer metabolism. Publicly visible clinical development remains limited; strictly speaking, there is at least one selective clinical-stage small-molecule program, while additional strategies include other small-molecule approaches acting on the same metabolic axis, as well as emerging PROTAC and therapeutic vaccine concepts in earlier research. The main disease focus remains oncology, especially triple-negative breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and glioma, while broader research also links SLC7A11 to Alzheimer’s disease and ischemia-reperfusion injury. For detailed therapeutic progress, a suitable anchor text is: “SLC7A11/xCT in Cancer: Ferroptosis, Immunotherapy and Drug Development.”

SLC7A11/xCT is a 12-pass transmembrane transporter that is highly dependent on membrane context, structurally complex, and difficult to express, purify, and stabilize. As a result, it remains a challenging target for antigen preparation, antibody discovery, and binding studies. To address these challenges, DIMA BIOTECH currently provides Human SLC7A11 ECD recombinant protein and Human SLC7A11 full-length membrane protein in synthetic nanodiscs. The ECD protein is suitable for immunogen preparation, ELISA coating, preliminary binding studies, and early antibody screening, while the full-length nanodisc protein is better suited for conformation-dependent binding analysis, SPR, phage display screening, immunization, structural studies, and membrane protein antibody discovery.
