VEGFR2/KDR Recombinant Proteins, Antibodies and Stable Cell Lines

VEGFR2, encoded by KDR and also known as FLK1 or CD309, is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the VEGF receptor family. The family includes VEGFR1/FLT1, VEGFR2/KDR, and VEGFR3/FLT4. VEGFR2 is the principal signaling receptor for VEGFA-driven angiogenesis, VEGFR1 has distinct ligand-binding and regulatory functions, and VEGFR3 is especially important in lymphangiogenesis. VEGFA binding promotes VEGFR2 dimerization and phosphorylation and activates PLCγ, MAPK, PI3K/AKT, and additional pathways that drive endothelial-cell proliferation, migration, survival, vascular permeability, and new-vessel formation. The VEGFA-VEGFR2 axis is central to physiological vascular development and pathological tumor angiogenesis and also influences the tumor immune microenvironment.
