CDH3/P-Cadherin Target and Research Tools for Cancer Studies

CDH3 (Cadherin-3, P-Cadherin) is an important member of the classical cadherin family and has emerged as a highly attractive cancer-related target in recent years. CDH3 is selectively expressed in specific epithelial tissues and plays a critical role in regulating cell–cell adhesion, tissue remodeling, and cell migration. Unlike CDH1, CDH3 is frequently overexpressed in multiple solid tumors, where its upregulation is associated with increased tumor aggressiveness, poor prognosis, and metastatic potential, highlighting its value as a target for cancer therapy and antibody drug development. As a representative cadherin family target, CDH3 has attracted growing interest from the drug discovery community. To date, dozens of CDH3-associated drug development programs have been initiated globally, covering monoclonal antibodies, antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), and combination therapeutic strategies. These efforts are driven by multinational pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and innovative startups, with research focusing on suppressing tumor progression, modulating the tumor microenvironment, and improving target selectivity.
