CDH3/P-Cadherin Proteins, Antibodies & Cell Lines

Cadherin-3/CDH3, also known as P-Cadherin, is a classical cadherin and calcium-dependent cell-adhesion molecule. Its extracellular region contains multiple cadherin repeats that mediate homotypic cell-cell interactions and contribute to epithelial integrity, tissue organization, cell migration, and tissue remodeling. Under physiological conditions, CDH3 expression is restricted to selected epithelial tissues and developmental stages. However, increased or aberrant CDH3 expression has been observed in several solid tumors, including breast, lung, head and neck, and gynecologic malignancies. These expression characteristics, together with its cell-surface accessibility, have made CDH3 an attractive candidate target for antibody- and ADC-based therapeutic research. Because cadherin-family proteins contain several extracellular domains, candidate antibodies may recognize distinct epitopes with different biological and functional properties.
