In adults, CDH6 expression is relatively restricted in many normal tissues, whereas elevated expression has been reported in selected ovarian, renal, and other solid tumors. Its cell-surface localization and relatively large extracellular region have therefore made CDH6 an emerging target for antibody- and ADC-based drug development. For ADC programs in particular, antibody binding alone is not sufficient; cell-surface recognition, internalization efficiency, and payload-mediated cytotoxicity are also important parameters for lead selection.
