C5AR1/CD88 Full-Length Nanodisc Proteins, ECDs and Antibodies

C5AR1, also known as C5aR1 or CD88, is a class A seven-transmembrane GPCR and the major high-affinity receptor for the complement-derived anaphylatoxin C5a. C5a-C5AR1 signaling activates Gi proteins, β-arrestin-dependent pathways, intracellular calcium mobilization, MAPK, and PI3K signaling, resulting in leukocyte chemotaxis, degranulation, inflammatory-mediator production, and phagocyte activation. This pathway is an important interface between complement activation and myeloid-cell responses. Although C5AR1 contributes to normal antimicrobial defense, excessive signaling can drive systemic inflammation and tissue injury and can also influence suppressive myeloid populations within tumors. These features make C5AR1 relevant to complement biology, inflammatory disease, and tumor-microenvironment research.

Because C5AR1 is a multi-pass GPCR, preservation of its native membrane conformation is particularly important for functional antibody discovery.
