IL5 Recombinant Proteins and Neutralizing Antibody Tools

Interleukin-5 (IL5) is a central cytokine in type 2 immunity and is produced primarily by Th2 cells, type 2 innate lymphoid cells, mast cells, and selected additional immune populations. IL-5 binds the IL5RA-specific receptor subunit, which associates with the common beta chain to activate JAK/STAT, RAS/MAPK, and PI3K signaling. The pathway has a particularly important role in eosinophil differentiation, maturation, survival, recruitment, and activation. Excessive IL-5 signaling is therefore closely linked to eosinophilic inflammation, asthma, and other allergic or eosinophil-associated disorders. IL-5 remains an important target for cytokine-neutralizing antibody research and for studying the biology of eosinophil-driven disease.
