IL6R/CD126 Recombinant Proteins and Flow Antibodies

Interleukin-6 Receptor Alpha (IL6R), also known as CD126, is the ligand-binding component of the IL-6 receptor system. IL-6 first binds membrane-associated IL6R and subsequently recruits the signaling subunit gp130/CD130, activating JAK/STAT3, MAPK, and PI3K/AKT pathways involved in acute-phase responses, lymphocyte biology, hematopoiesis, and tissue repair. IL6R can also exist in a soluble form. Complexes of IL-6 with soluble IL6R can stimulate cells expressing gp130 even when membrane IL6R is absent, a process known as trans-signaling. This mechanism significantly broadens the biological range of IL-6 and is particularly relevant to chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease. IL6R is therefore an important target for receptor-blocking and signaling-selective antibody research.
